Kota Kinabalu - Random Pictures

Kota Kinabalu - Durian Season

Upon reaching KK, we stumbled upon people selling Durian every where. We didnt realise its the season already. Durian is our favourite fruit, so we were happy to encounter this, haha.

Kota Kinabalu - Pasar Malam Sinsuran

Some random pictures we took during our recent trip to Kota Kinabalu (KK) Sabah. These pictures were taken at Pasar Malam Sinsuran, a lively place full of vendors selling fruits and vegetables. On the other part of the pasar, we could find people opening up movable gerai and sell cooked or steamed sea food.

Back from KK, Sabah

We just got back from a short trip to KK. We have been there for a few times already but it’s the shortest and cheapest holiday we could find so off we went. Nothing special after a while anymore but I always welcome the idea of away from work even for a few days and just chill.

This time we were staying at 1Borneo again, at Grand Borneo KK. Not too bad although we did encounter a few shortcomings here and there. Things like, they didn’t change the bedsheet for 4 days! We didn’t realize this until the last day we were there. How did we know, you must ask. Well.. I smeared something on the white sheet and on our last day at the hotel, I just noticed the smear was still there! They didn’t make up the room until 7pm on the first day, after we arrived back to hotel and called housekeeping. The chair was ripped. The tap at the bathroom fell off! And I didn’t really like the design of the bathroom. The bathroom has a glass wall where you can see through it from the bed. Of course there was curtain to block the views but it was from outside. So if you are inside the bathroom you are at the mercy of the people outside. They may want to peek on what you are doing hahaha.

Did a little bit of shopping here and there. And a lot of eating. Had seafood dinner (twice) at Tamu Malam Sinsuran. Yummy… enjoyed that esp the sambal. And towards the end, we bought some Durians, Mangosteen and other fruits, seemed it was fruit season over there at this time of year. Our daughter bought some books, her favourite holiday activities, not so much for other things, which of course a good thing.

Still contemplating whether to publish some pictures since they are all the same from my previous posts. But will try to pick and choose some different pictures if I could find some later.
