Beijing China Part 3

The Great Wall

This was the highlight of our holiday. This is the main reason why we came. We wanted to see this wonder of the world, the so called Dragon of China. The length of the Great wall is approximately 6,700 km from east to west china. It was built maybe 2000 years ago by a great army of manpower including soldiers, prisoners and local people. I felt the wall was endless. On a good day, when the weather permitted we could see miles and miles of the wall from across the mountain. Really awesome. We even managed to climb up the wall to certain height. And we reached a place to obtain our own certificate for climbing the wall at a cost of course.

Simply said, we were awe struck with this ancient creation. Its simply breath taking. We couldn’t believe we were really here. And its simply the most popular destination for tourist. There were thousands of them.
View from the top of the Great Wall first hill.

The weather was perfect to see the great extend of the Great Wall.

Climbing up the Great Wall, not too bad.

On our way down after the climb.

There was a place on top of the hill where you can buy a certificate for successfully climbing up the Great Wall.

On of the many notice boards at the Wall.

Beautiful and historic view of the Great Wall from the main entrance.

Before the start of the climb.
