Spent 3 days in this island with my hubby, my daughter, my parents, my brother and his family. Langkawi is much quiter than KL but nevertheless we enjoyed our stay here. I know after doing some research via the internet Langkawi has lots of attractions to offer although we didnt get to see much of it except the Dataran Lang and Oriental Village due to our short stay here.
Food wise, so easy to find places to eat. Restaurants and gerai were everywhere! Not so hard at all. Except most food were spicy and hot but we tried to look for milder ones.
Taxis were a bit hard to find so we opted to hire a van since there were 8 of us. We hired a van from the airport at a cost of RM250 for 3 days, with the RM50 refundable at the end of our stay. The van was a bit run down but it was ok for our short stay and we managed to move around and went places with the van. My brother did all the driving and its so convenient that we didnt depend on taxis to go places.
We stayed at an apartment called Suria Century Condominum, 3 rooms with a side view of the ocean, Its quite reasonable and the apartment was right at the centre of Kuah Town. It was ok but I thought the apartment was a bit run down and needed a facelift and tender loving care.
The weather was really hot and we tried to shield ourselves from the sun most of the time. So drinking plenty of water is a must here.
We flew using AirAsia and caught a connecting flight to Langkawi on the same day. The flight was right on time so we were not worried about being late for the Langkawi flight. We had ample time to rest, had lunch and wandered around at the LCCT.

Our first night at Langkawi we went and wandered around Kuah Town looking for a place to have dinner and found this gerai. The food was awesome although a bit too hot for our liking. The gerai served seafood and other menu which was about right for us.

We only had one full day at Langkawi so we planned to visit
Oriental Village today. The place was about 30 minutes from our apartment. So many things to do here and the most famous one was the Langkawi Cable Car although none of us wanted to try it out, except hubby and my daughter and because they were outnumbered, their ideas was cancelled hehehe.
The cable car was so high, it goes up the mountain and there was even a sky walk there. We ended up doing some shopping here. We wandered around until lunch time where we had lunch at one gerai by the roadside.

In the afternoon we went to
Dataran Lang. I guess this is the most famous man made attraction of Langkawi which featured a huge statue of an eagle. Although when we went there the place was actually under renovation! And its kind of deserted except for the eagle which can still be visited.
We had such a short time in Langkawi but at least we did get to see some of Langkawi attractions. The day flew by so quickly and the time had come for us to leave.
