Singapore Day 2

Day 2 started with all the excitement and anticipation from everyone hehe. So fun to see my parents and brother got excited and couldnt wait expression although during this time they have no idea on where to go, except my brother was interested to go to car spare part workshop in Waterloo! After a few deliberation we decided to do a little bit of shopping at the busiest places in Singapore.  Bugis Street and Orchard Road. Hubby and I reckoned if we wanted to see the real Singapore then these are the places!

Firstly, we had breakfast at Mr Teh tarik gerai just below our hotel.  This place was a bomb, the food are good and they are opened 24 hours.  There were a number of stall selling Malay food, Chinese food, Western food and numerous drinks.  I love the teh tarik!  And the roti prata was nice too. One thing I like about the place that it was all Halal.

During the deliberation, hubby showed the entourage on the way to go places by MRT.  The folks never get into a MRT so its gonna be fun to see them embark into one of these famous mode of transportation in Singapore

Hubby sharing the Singapore map with the group and decided where to head next.

After breakfast, we started our day to Bugis Street, using a MRT.  The nearest one from our hotel was Paya Lebar MRT station and it took us 10 minutes to reach the station.  It was quite a long walk but with 9 people the walk was quite fun.

The group started the adventure!

Hubby taught my brother on how to use the MRT by following the sign.  It could be confusing and need some get used to.  We bought a season tickets that cost us SGD12, SGD5 for the card which could be used for 5 years and SGD7 worth of travel which could be topped up at any time.

Hubby showed the way, we mostly used the MRT to move about.  We even purchased MRT card where we could buy the prepaid and top it up when it runs out.

Look at these faces!  The excitement of embarking on a MRT station for the first time.  It was crowded as usual with commuters.

My brother with his son in the MRT.

We reached Bugis Street and moved on to Bugis Junction.  There were crowds of shoppers and Christmas celebration was in the air!

Us with the folks at Bugis Junction with a big christmas tree in the background.

There was this big metal christmas tree in the middle of the junction which I think will look more beautiful during the night if all the lights were lit up.

Since its almost christmas, there were a few beautiful Santa Claus around including this one.  Very pretty!

More walking around Bugis Street

The day ended with a trip to Orchard Road, the decision we all regretted since the place was really crowded and packed, nothing to see and to do, we were really uncomfortable.

Lots of happening in Orchard Road, because of the christmas celebrations.  Like this one, I dont know what he is but he sure captured attention.

Me and hubby along the Orchard Road

The christmas lighting, not as beautiful as I thought it would be.

Look at this sea of people.  Could you all see me?
