We had a simple dinner at the zoo while waiting for the Night Safari to open at 7.30pm. Night Safari is simply a night zoo. I was not keen at first but since we cancelled the trip to Sentosa island, we might as well go there. I've heard good reviews of it and everyone said it was really good, so ok, off we go then.
Time just flew by so fast and it was already almost 7pm so we rush to go to the other side of the zoo where the night safari was. There were crowds everywhere!
The walk to the Night Safari took about 5-10mins along a nice walkway and by the time we reached there it was almost dark. As usual, there were always crowds of people, everything has to be done in a queue. And it was really dark. Upon entering the area, there was a big crowd and I knew that must be the fire-eating show! This nightly performance consisted of ethnic dances, blowpipe demonstrations and the most interesting one is the fire-eating peformance. Really amazing to see the human torches exhaling flames up to the sky! But since there was a big crowd, we couldnt really see it very well so its really was a pity.
Then we moved on and tried to join the queue and got on the tram. It was really a long queue! Then one of the employees advised us there was an animal performance right that minute and since there was a long queue we might as well went and watch that instead. So off we went to see that show. It was ok, the MC was really lively and funny and she knew how to make the show interesting and fun.
We were warned not to use the flash when taking photos though so we didnt really get good shots. The show took about 30 minutes, well.. not really 30 minutes since the lady MC kept on asking people not to stand up, must keep still, no flash lights and so on. But it was a good show and the animals were cute and knew what they were supposed to do.
At around 8pm we proceeded to the tram and joined the long queue. We started hopping on the tram at around 8.30pm after long waiting. And I was not sure if I enjoyed the ride though since we couldnt see the animals very much and we couldnt use the flash lights as well so most of our pictures turned up dark!
But it was a good night and we did enjoy our time at the Night Safari. But the crowds did dampen our mood for a bit but it was really enjoyable since its our first time there. We went back on a taxi and it cost us SGD16 to reach the hotel. Phew!
